Metal & Auto Recycling

Loading Truck at Subregion 1

As of 2016, American Iron & Metals (AIM)  is our new licensed salvage dealer that operates under a certificate of approval issued by the Department of Environment & Conservation.

During the fall of 2016, NewCo visited Subregions 1, 2, 3 & 4 to collect metals for AIM. Approximately 22 tractor trailer and several basket trailer loads of metals were collected, such as vehicles, household appliances, hot water heaters, oil tanks, washers, and dryers. This material is crushed into bundles, loaded onto trailers and shipped to Quebec for further recycling into various parts and products.

NorPen would like to thank residents for using our landfill sites to dispose of metals in an environmentally friendly manner. Just a reminder to residents that before disposing of wrecks and oil tanks, tires must be removed and all oils drained.
