Landfill Hours of Operation

All landfill sites are now back to normal operating hours.

Rules & Regulations (while visiting the landfill sites)

There is a full-time Attendant at each site. Appropriate signage is posted on all landfill sites regarding locations to unload different types of solid waste.

Clients who use the landfill sites are expected to abide by all regulations. Landfill Attendants are expected to treat all clients in a respectful manner and to accurately record all waste.

 •  When you offload your waste (whatever it consists of), it immediately becomes property of NorPen.
 •  Absolutely no scavenging is allowed. (due to insurance coverage and privacy issues - we have to guarantee privacy for waste)
 •  NorPen has the authority to call the RCMP if these regulations are not followed and charges will be laid.
 •  Smoking is not permitted on site.
 •  Clients are responsible for offloading all materials brought into the landfill site. Staff are not permitted to offload your waste for you. However, should you require assistance - please phone in advance, and arrangements can be made.
 •  Due to safety issues, children are not allowed to walk or run around the site.
 •  Pets are not allowed to roam free at the site. Please keep them in your vehicle or on a short leash.
 •  When you are asked to declare what your waste consist of, you must state all items that you are carrying. As we have various stations for each classification of waste, you will be directed as to where each item is to be offloaded.
 •  Remember, all waste must be covered when transporting. Travelling to the landfill sites for all users requires highway travel. At highway speed items can come loose and blow back to hit vehicles behind you. In addition, you are littering if items blow onto the road and into the ditches, with or without your knowledge.
 •  For loose uncontrollable items, cover with a net. This does an excellent job to keep items secure.
 •  For used roofing shingles, there are issues with nails falling through trailer seams, bedpan seams or truck tailgate seams and waiting on the roadway for the next piece of rubber coming its way. It is possible that next piece of rubber could be your tire, returning from the landfill site. It is best to place a plastic sheet or tarp on the bed of your transportating vehicle so it can contain loose nails. This will also make it easier to offload once you get to the site.
 •  No wood can be taken from the site.

When you enter the landfill site, you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for problems with your vehicle resulting from travelling on our road system. We make every effort to keep roadways clear of sharp debris.
